After a 10 seconds time penalty, Andreas ended just outside the podium at Rally Australia. With a 4th O/A he still managed to strengthen his 3rd position in the championship. Team-mate Sebastien Ogier claimed championship victory with winning Rally Australia, even with 3 more events left of the season.

Ahead of the final day, Andreas was still on course for a possible maiden victory. He was only 9,1 seconds adrift of the leader going in to day 3. In the end Ogier demonstrated why he is the reigning worldchampion, and won, not only Rally Australia, but he also claimed the 2015 World Rally Championship overall win.

On the final day of Rally Australia, Andreas found him self in an epic battle with Kris Meeke for the final podium spot. Meeke was ahead with almost 9 seconds going in to day 3, but Andreas and Ola were getting closer stage by stage. With only two more stages to go, they had the podium in sight, but unfortunately a 10 seconds time penalty for late check in to service, saw them drop back behind Meeke again. Meeke ended 3rd, and Andreas had to settle for 4th. In the end, they ended 6 seconds adrift of Meeke, time penalty included.

– I am very pleased with the rally, and I think it’s one of the best performances we have done. No big mistakes, and very much on the pace. But of course, 4th is not what we came here for. It was really frustrating to pick up the 10 seconds timepenalty for checking in late to service, but we managed to keep on fighting and were pushing to the end, and rewarded with an extra Power Stage point. Big congratulations to team-mates Seb and Julien for winning the rally, and also taking home the title!
