Johan Kristoffersson got off to a difficult start when his WTCR campaign got underway in Morocco this weekend. He brings home P17 from 2 races and retired from one race. – It’s not much to say, we couldn’t find the speed over the weekend, says a very disappointed Kristoffersson. – We got off with a difficult start already on the Saturday when we ended P20 after the first qualification.

From his starting-position back on the grid, there was contact with other cars which resulted in damaged steering. – Neither of the cars in the team was up on the speed we wanted. We tried different setups over the weekend and we still have a lot of work to do.

Kristoffersson was P24 after the first race on Sunday. He advanced to P19 after a good start and finished race 2 P17. – It was a challenging but very cool track to race on, but clearly we want to fight for better positions.

For race 3 Johan started P20, advanced a few places in the start and ended up P17. – I did advance a few places in both races on Sunday, but the track was quite difficult and there was no point risking anything to get P16. We will now analyze well so we can perform better for the next race in Hungary.

Johan started his new career in the World Touring Car Cup a few weeks ago with a test-session in Barcelona. The race in Morocco is the first on the 2019 WTCR calendar, where Johan will be competing in a Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR with Sebastien Loeb Racing.
