Ole Christian Veiby (17) will be driving for the Volkswagen Dealer Team KMS in an all-new RallyX series in Sweden. “It’ll be awesome,” Ole Chr says.

The STCC organisation is behind the new rallyX series, which is called RallyX Supercar Scandinavia. The all-new series will get plenty of TV airtime.

Volkswagen Dealer Team KMS is one of the first teams to announce that they will be taking part in RallyX Supercar Scandinavia and will be competing with two four-wheel drive cars, based on the Volkswagen Polo. Ole will be driving one of the cars and former STCC champion Johan Kristoffersson will be driving the other.

“I’m really looking forward to competing in rallyX and am very grateful to have been given this opportunity. I can’t wait to get started,” Ole says.

Team owner Tommy Kristoffersson is very pleased with the team they have put together.
“I believe that with Johan and Ole we have two drivers who will have every chance of achieving successful results on the rallyX track. Johan demonstrated his talent during the Swedish Championship rounds and the European RallyX Championship at Hølje. Ole has impressed in our tests so far,” Kristoffersson says.

In 2013, the team debuted in rallyX with two 600 hp VW Sciroccos. We are now in full swing developing completely new cars based on VW Polo. That is to say the same model as Volkswagen made a clean sweep with in this year’s WRC.

“It’s difficult to describe driving a rallyX car with 600 hp, you have to experience it. I’m sure that this series will be a success and I can’t help but feel a surge of excitement each time I think about what I’m going to be taking part in,” says Ole, who is a former Norwegian crosskart champion and therefore used to duelling head-to-head on a rallycross track.

“But this is something completely different and I’ll be competing against more experienced drivers. I just hope my youthful commitment and enthusiasm compensates for this,” he says with a smile.

Seventeen year old Ole will not be putting his rally career on the shelf just yet, but this opportunity means that rallyX will be his main priority in 2014.
