Strong performance from Johan Kristoffersson at the Arctic Rally Finland

Johan Kristoffersson had a good practice weekend at Arctic Rally Finland with the Volkswagen Polo GTI, ahead of his Extreme-E season, and also found the pace on the final day. - It was good in the end, we have to be satisfied, Johan says.

Competing in the WRC3 category, the triple rallycross world champion got off to a good start on Friday, third in class on the first stage. When the first day was over he was 6th. - Smooth and clean. It was a bit difficult in the dark but worked ok.

The start of the Saturday was not so fortunate. On SS 4 Johan hit a snowbank and got stuck for nine minutes. - Then you have to start all over again to try and find the rhythm. Johan and co-driver Patrik Barth were fourth and fifth on the following stages in their Volkswagen Polo GTI R5.

Before the rally Johan said the plan was to speed up on Sunday. On SS 9 he was second among the WRC 3 cars, only three seconds behind the Estonian Kaur. He went on to do the same on the Power Stage and showed his ability to be among the best as soon as he finds his rally rhythm. - The first stage and the last two, that's when we're up there where we should be, says Johan.

Kristoffersson and Barth finished tenth in WRC 3 and Volkswagen Dealerteam BAUHAUS boss Tommy Kristoffersson thought it was good. - You always want more, but this was new hunting grounds for us and we were up against a bunch of very good Finnish drivers. To be able to take it further than this we have to compete and practice more. Johan takes the car to the finish line and that was the most important thing this weekend.

It was good kick off to a season which includes Extreme E and hopefully something more.

- I hope this has been of help for the Extreme E season. I am very much looking forward to that and competing with Molly. It is difficult to know what to expect but you have to prepare for adapting quickly, says Johan.
