This years Rallye de France can only be named as an extreme event. A medicane hit the island of Corsica on Friday, with heavy rain, flooding and land-slides causing problems and lead to two stages being cancelled. In addition the roads were covered with mud, sand and gravel afterwards. After 7 stages in total, Andreas and Ola drove into 3rd overall this afternoon.

Both Andreas and Ola knew this was going to be a tough event, so ending 3rd in the overall classification is a good result: – Looking at it overall it has been a good weekend for us, says Andreas. – We started a bit slow and had some brake-issues on the opening day. With a timeloss of 30 seconds on the first stage, we had to change our approach and with the new strategy we recovered stage by stage and climbed in the classification. We almost made second place, and who knows, with a few more stages we could have been at the top spot. We also knew that it would be difficult to adjust without any testing prior to the event, especially with the brake-issue. On the other side, to finish 3rd in this extreme conditions, we have to be pleased!

Jari-Matti Latvala won Tour De Corse. Elfyn Evans finally claimed second position, after a very exciting battle with Andreas on the final day.
