Dennis Olsen took his second victory of the season in Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 at Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium at the weekend.

The 18-year-old from Våler in Norway showed his ambition to win Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 overall by securing a victory in the first race of the weekend.

“It was absolutely amazing. It’s such a good feeling to finally succeed, and I can’t stop smiling,” said a delighted Dennis after the race.

At legendary Spa-Francorchamps, Dennis had to prove he could compete with the best after what he felt was a below-par start to the season. The race weekend started with good times in the practice sessions and the qualifying session on Saturday morning also went well. Olsen qualified for a third place on the grid and therefore only had two other drivers in front of him. He wasted no time in making the most of this from the start.

“I took over second place on the first bend and caught up with the leader at the next bend. Along the straight I made the most of being his slipstream and managed to overtake. After that I just had to drive well and set the pace with good lap times,” Olsen said.

The race was interrupted for a period when a safety car had to come out after another driver had driven off the track, but not even this distracted Olsen from taking his first victory of the year.
Dennis Olsen impressed once again on Sunday. From third place on the grid, Olsen drove to second place only beaten by his teammate Bruno Bonifacio in PREMA POWERTEAM.
