Esapekka Lappi and co-driver Janne Ferm confirmed their talent once again when they won the 12th and final race of the season at the FIA European Rally Championship in Switzerland. The young Finn was never really under any threat, and showed his potential when he finished the race by winning the final stage in his Skoda Fabia S2000.
As far as Lappi is concerned, it was extra fun to win an ERC round on asphalt and the victory came just six days after he won China Rally Longyou.
“I’ve had a really good week. I never would have believed beforehand that I’d win here in Switzerland, so it’s absolutely fantastic. It’s a great way to end the season. We’ve learned a lot during the year, especially about driving on asphalt, which bodes well for next year,” he said with a smile.
